Humanitarian Tracker: Top 10 Global Innovations selected for the 2016 United Nations Solutions Summi

Our Founder, Hend Alhinnawi, introduced our initiative, Humanitarian Tracker, at the second annual Solutions Summit, which took place on September 21, 2016 at United Nations Headquarters. It was selected as one of the Top 10 Solutions for achieving the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Over 3,000 organizations applied this year for the ten spots. We are honored to be selected!

Megan Smith, US CTO (White House Office of Science and Technology Policy), co-moderated the event. The United Nations Foundation, the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service NGLS, and the Global Innovation Exchange, in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Philanthropy Platform, the Global Entrepreneurs Council, and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network announced the second annual Solutions Summit.

The effort was also supported by three private sector leaders who are working to integrate SDG solutions-based approach into their business: Qualcomm Wireless Reach, Mastercard, and Guggenheim Partners.

Eyewitness and other reports crowdsourced over the past 6 years via Syria Tracker, Humanitarian Tracker's flagship project, have been used by citizens on the ground in #Syria, the Washington Post , the United Nations Human Rights, and USAID - US Agency for International Development, among others.
